I had something similar once. I hadn't eaten for a few days and had to do a twenty mile bike ride to get to and from a hospital appointment. I was so close to home but I kept almost passing out and had to stop to give my body more time to make me some energy. Was quite proud of myself they day. I knew that must have been a lot of fat lost. Can't remember whether I ate that day either. I miss that days when I had control.

The woman in the red shirt and black jacket at 1:50 turned out to be a Karen. She tries rather poorly to support the collapsed runner's arm, instead, the father of the runner took control and strapped his son's arm around his neck. You can see Karen gave him a little shove in return since she was annoyed. What they don't actually reveal is that Karen escalated the issue and had the runner disqualified; claiming that the father struck her. True story, it ended up on 60 minutes in Australia.

Finishing a full marathon in 3 hours and 30 minutes is one hell of a challenge so for someone to collapse is understandable. My first full marathon was finished in 4 hours and 30 minutes and I could barely stand when I hit the finish line, its difficult but still worth the pain. The first half of a full marathon is fine but that last 4-1 mile is a really challenge.

Once them muscles start cramping, it's over with. I've been in that state before at wrestling practice. With me, it was my calf muscles. They just refused to function for a while. I couldn't stand up for about 30 minutes.

I wouldn't mind collapsing across a finish line with a BQ 3:29. My PR is 5:17:21. And I do pray Jonathan recovered pretty fully and quickly.

What is the point in running yourself into an early grave? Why? What the hell is the point? Take up cycling or swimming and stop pounding your knee joints. Running is bad for you! It’s very high impact

Think about it, with a slower time, you have to run for longer at the same effort level (not pace) as someone faster than you.

My P.R. was 2:18:16 @ the Boston Marathon and still ranks as the top 100 fastest times in the World for a competitive marathon race since 1981, where I finished 56th place in this race, and was on the New Balance National Racing Team for two years. Became a Professional Athlete straight out of College at 24 years of age, and was a World Class Runner. Half Marathon 1hr. 05mins and 18 seconds all between 1981 to 1984. 5,000 meters 14:01.64 and 10,000 meters 29:33.60 completed in 1981 and 1984.

how embarrassing. if you have to crawl across a finish line when all the people around you are fine then you’re not ready do a marathon. Train more and then ill respect you
